Applicants are required to demonstrate financial hardships by presenting documentation of emergency circumstances or unexpected expenditures in addition to financial records, unpaid lease agreements and/or utilities bill.

Wounded Warriors Family Support has partnered with Pathway Financial Education to provide veterans and their families with financial education programs. These programs focus on entrepreneurship, small business ownership, and financial planning. The partnership aims to expand financial competency and optimize the potential for financial independence in the community. The Pathway Financial Education Training course has been instrumental in helping veterans gain access to highly credentialed professionals with expertise in various fields, including financial planning, tax services, law, and business management.

This is a free 8-week in-depth course that meets once a week for about an hour.   The current course is scheduled to begin August 4, 2026.

National Financial Educators Council
(NFEC)

The National Financial Educators Council (NFEC) offers a complimentary military online personal finance course for active-duty military personnel and veterans. This course is designed to help individuals improve their financial health and is available at no cost. Participants must provide proof of service, such as a military ID or DD-214. The course is a part of the NFEC's mission to provide access to training and materials that help military service members make sound financial decisions aligned with their life goals.

Whether you are currently serving, a veteran, or a military spouse, this comprehensive personal finance course addresses the unique challenges of military life. The program is designed to be self-paced, helping learners sharpen their skills through key topics to build, grow, and protect their finances. By the end of the course, learners will have a better command of their financial situation and strategies to confidently achieve their goals. 

The Command Your Cash® course is offered by The USAA Educational Foundation at no cost to students. The foundation believes financial literacy is an essential life skill and is committed to empowering the military community with the knowledge and confidence to make informed financial decisions.
